don’t forget the life you promised yourself
In a sea of voices only yours I hear. In the quiet of the night, your breathing clear.
In a room full of people your eyes meet mine, and as follows our hands intertwine.
In a minute that feels like a lifetime, each second spent lovingly knowing you’re mine.
Isn’t it funny that the sentence,
“out of the millions of people out there, I chose you”
can imply two very different things?
One says,
“I chose you because you’re the most amazing person I’ve ever met. And I’m lucky to have you.”
And the other says,
“I chose you even though I could’ve chosen other people. And you are lucky that I did.”
Sometimes the one who says it doesn’t even know which one they meant. But we know which one sounds like a compliment and which one sounds like a threat.
Right?
“First love does not mean best love. And best friends may not mean best friends forever. But they both mean at some point, somewhere, someone did care. And their memories still there.”— Crywank - Welcome To Castle Irwell
